Hello and welcome to our new version!
With our new version we can finally deliver a feature that has been requested since we launched the app a few years ago: Support for local prices.
Starting with a total of 15 countries sales and app prices are now displayed in the local currency and also only displayed if they are available in the selected region. A dialog to change your current country / currency can be found in our apps Settings.
Other changes and announcements:
# Report wrong prices
Adding support for local prices makes keeping the prices up-to-date and detecting new sales more complicated that’s why we increased the visibility of our existing ‘report wrong price’ functionality. If an app is listed at a wrong price or a sale / now free app is not listed simply select the app from the search functionality or your watchlist and click the report wrong price to inform us about a outdated price or missing sale. We’ll try our best to update the price or add it to the list of sales as soon as possible.
# Server upgrade
We’ve seen a huge increase of downloads during the last weeks that’s why we increased the performance of our servers to keep up with the higher demand. It may take some days until we solved some minor issues which we couldn't detect during our testing but the app should be more responsive once we solved those.
# Translations
The current version contains some untranslated strings in several languages. Join us on Crowdin if you want to help complete the translation or translate the app to your language. The link to our project on Crowdin can be found in our app settings.
# Website update
Our website (www.app-sales.net) has received a major redesign and also also lists our active sales and temporarily free apps. Our RSS / twitter feed will be shut down due to the low demand and the added complexity that came with support for local prices.
# Support the project
If you like the project than please leave us a comment or rating on Google Play which helps us out a lot (a 'Rate AppSales' link can be found in our sidebar). Also consider upgrading to our Premium Subscription to unlock additional features and help us keep the project running (especially if you are using an adblocker). If you haven't been able to upgrade because a credit card was required we got some good news for you: Google recently added the ability to pay for subscriptions with Google Play balance. Sharing our app or sales that we list with your friends and family also helps us and should also result in more and better sales going forward.
If we screwed something up with the recent update especially when it comes to formatting local prices (things like decimal separator or currency sign) or any other functionality that isn’t working properly simply send us an email so we can fix those problems with the next update.
